Craig McMahon - composer

An outrageously talented multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and award winning arranger.  Craig was accepted into the Royal Scotish Academy of Music and Drama, now Royal Conservatoire of Scotland at the age of 16 where he studied classical trombone for two years. It was here at the RSAMD and during senior years at school that he honed his skills on a multitude of instruments including piano, brass, guitar, ukulele, banjo, bass, drums, and percussion – and as a composer.

 Craig graduated with frist class honours degree in BA Applied Music course at University of Strathclyde and was awarded the Alexander Stone award for composition in 2014. Craig then furthered his studies at University of Strathclyde and graduated with a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education in 2015.  Now extremely active in songwriting and live music circuit Craig regularly performs with numerous bands in various styles; from indie, modern jazz, and big band concerts, to orchestral concerts and German Oompah bands.

Craig currently records, performs, tours and composes for Glasgow Indie-Muso’s ‘Pronto Mama’ and with Jazz-fusion Juggernaut, ‘Fat-Suit’, playing synthesizer, trombone, percussion and vocals across both bands.  Recent collaborations include Frightened Rabbit, Babyshambles, The Fall, Jamie Cullum, Fatherson, We Were Promised Jetpacks, , Blood Relatives, and Angus Munro.
